Georges Seurat

Georges Seurat (1859-1891) was a French artist and one of the founding members of Post-Impressionism. He is known for his vivid, colorful paintings depicting life in late 19th century Paris. Seurat worked in various styles including Impressionism and Pointillism before developing his own technique called Divisionism, which involves using small dots to create optical illusions of color and light. Seurat is considered one of the most influential artists of French modernism and is celebrated by many as a pioneer of contemporary art.
