Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was an Austrian artist, best known for his work in the styles of Symbolism and Modernism. Klimt is known for his decorative style, which often includes gold and silver backgrounds. He was also a member of the Vienna Secession, a movement for modern art in Vienna. Klimt was poor in the early years of his career, but later became extremely popular. He died in 1918 after a short illness. His work is still highly valued and influential in the world of art.
