Giuseppe Arcimboldo

Giuseppe Arcimboldo (1527-1593) was an Italian Renaissance artist best known for his portrait paintings made up of fruits, flowers, animals, and other objects. Arcimboldo was a part of the circle of artists at Emperor Rudolf II's court in Prague, where he worked as an official court painter. He is also known for his allegorical and mythological paintings, which depict themes such as time, the seasons, and the elements. Arcimboldo is remembered as one of the earliest representatives of Mannerism in Italian painting.
